5 fitness myths busted1) Doing high sets with low weight is the best way to get cut and lower bodyfat.

No. Reducing calorie intake is the best way to lower your bodyfat and give your muscles some razor cuts. You won’t see any cuts at all without first cutting your diet.

2) Chicks are at the gym to be hit on by you.

No. Chicks are at the gym to work out. If a girl happens to strike up a conversation with you, go with it. DO NOT interrupt a girl who just burned calorie number 650, running 5 MPH, to ask her “how this thing works”.

3) The best way to look cool and impress people is to do lots of weight with bad form.

Newsflash: no one cares how much you lift. Concentrate on form, or you are wasting your time. You will get to the big weights with time. You are only cheating yourself.

4) Lifting only heavy weights will make me look blocky and chunky

No. Lifting heavy weights and eating like a pig will make you look blocky. Heavy weights are what make your muscles grow.

5) My friend, favorite bodybuilding magazine, etc told me ____________ about ____________ so I am going to take it as fact.

Unless your friend has a degree or certification in personal training, happens to be a dietician, or is a professional bodybuilder, he probably doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about. Be careful about what you read in magazines too, many of the “articles” are nothing but “special ad reports” which do nothing but push their cruddy protein powder and creatine.
