Is it just me or is training on cardiovascular machinery about as much fun as watching paint dry? I won’t lie.  There are days when I simply don’t feel like hopping on that motionless bike or treadmill for yet another session of what seems to be an eternity in aerobic hell. cardio training on elliptical machine On days like those I have to dig down deep to muster up the fortitude.  I need to get my cardio done.  Now don’t get me wrong  I struggle at times and not because I don’t realize the value of cardio..  I know it is an essential part of any exercise program, and I also know it’s a necessary evil for bodybuilders, especially pre-contest. 30 to 45 minutes on virtually any piece of cardio equipment can be very boring.

Let’s face it, machine cardio is just to my not miss at times, and to make matters worse, it creates the slowest passage of time ever.  Unless you’re talking with someone, watching television or reading, 30 minutes can seem like forever.  Hold on to your sweat drenched socks.  I am about to tell you how to break the monotony involved with using stationary cardio equipment.

The technique is called anaerobic aerobics.  This technique will make your cardio sessions fly by. you should also feel a lot less award, while doing your cardio exercise.  Anaerobic aerobics involves sprints and weight training during the same session.  Try this out during your next cardio session.

 Hop on the elliptical machine and set the timer for 11 minutes.during the first minute glide at a nice, and even pace.  Now at the beginning of the second minute sprint as fast as you can for 60 seconds.  Following this one minute sprint, to a nice and easy pace for the next minute.  Repeat this until your 11th minute. Now you just did 11 minutes of elliptical training which should have felt like a lot less time. By sprinting then slowing down, you should also have had a very effective cardio building, fat loss cardio session.
