green tea The catechin and caffeine combination found in green tea may help you shed a few extra pounds of fat. There is a current theory regarding green tea that the catechin and caffeine in green tea may have a synergistic effect when it comes to fat loss.  There was a report in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, green team notably the oolong type, displayed such a synergistic effect, promoting the oxidation of fat.
